Wheels in Motion: Preparing Your County for Transportation Funding Coming through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
Sunday, May 1
10:45 – 11:30 a.m.
In November, President Joe Biden signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), also called the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, providing more than $300 billion through 2026 through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for infrastructure, roads, bridges, mass transit and more. FHWA’s normal funding process for projects goes through the state departments of transportation. While this legislation maintains that process for the vast majority of projects, it also includes a direct-recipient model through which FHWA will be directly administering grant funds from project inception through project opening directly with local governments. Learn more about the programs to be funded (many of which are still under development) and how to get your county prepared to apply for these new funds when they become available. FWHA wants to get to know county officials and meet with those interested in potential programs to ensure they know who to call once they are announced through grants.gov. This is a conference session you don’t want to miss!
Presenter: Dan Hinton, Federal Highway Administration Acting Division Administrator (Georgia)
